Each day, the status of your Award is reevaluated. If you’ve listed fewer than {items_count} items in the 30 day period before, you’ll lose your Award.

Generally, only business sellers are likely to have to prove anything. Even if you needed proof, you could always provide a statement from you or the person who gave you the item.
