Irish Dresden figurine: hight 9cm Irish Dresden figurines, which are known for their delicate lace details, are a specific type of Dresden porcelain. The Saar family has been producing them in Ireland since 1962. About Dresden Irish Lace Porcelain Dresden Lace Porcelain is known for its unique technique of applying real lace dipped in liquid porcelain to figurines. The technique involved dipping real lace in soft porcelain paste and then firing it in ovens at over 1200 degrees Celcius, which burned away the fabric, leaving a delicate porcelain lace shell. This method was particularly popular during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The art of Dresden lace porcelain began in the early 18th century in the German state of Thuringia, particularly in the town of Volkstedt. Anton Müller and MÜLLER VOKKSTEDT: In the late 19th century, Anton Müller, a renowned artist and craftsman, gained special recognition for his expertise in porcelain lace figurines. He established MÜLLER VOKKSTEDT in 1907, which became the precursor to Irish Dresden. Transition to Ireland: The tradition of creating lace porcelain figurines was brought to Ireland over 60 years ago. Irish Dresden has been producing these hand-crafted lace porcelain products in Dromcolliher, County Limerick, Ireland, continuing the unique artistic tradition.
